Meg Lewis

Meg Lewis brings over a decade of experience in tourism and economic development communications and marketing to the LHG team. Her background gives her unique insight into how today’s most competitive destinations blend tourism and traditional economic development activities to create a robust, fully integrated strategy. In her role, she leverages her knowledge and network to deliver results for LHG’s tourism clients and expand their economic development portfolio. 

Previously she served as the Chief Communications Officer for the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, in Montgomery, Alabama, While there, she led the communications strategy for the organization’s destination marketing efforts. During that time, Montgomery emerged on the national and international stage as an essential cultural heritage destination setting all-time high visitor attendance and spending benchmarks and achieving two HSMAI Adrian Awards, including a Gold Award for work in conjunction with the grand opening of the Equal Justice Initiative’s National Memorial for Peace and Justice and Legacy Museum. 

Before her time at the Montgomery Chamber, Meg served as the Director of Marketing for the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, one of America’s premiere professional regional theatres where she managed public relations, traditional and social media strategy, and patron experiences. 

A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Meg graduated from Auburn University at Montgomery with an English degree and a passion for storytelling. She recently relocated to Charleston where she is indulging her love of history and great food, and exploring the nearby mountain biking and hiking opportunities.
