Senior Account Executive

Lou Hammond Group is seeking a candidate interested in strategic public relations and communications in the fun and interesting world of travel and hospitality public relations for a Senior Account Executive position. This position will be full-time within our New York office. Lou Hammond Group is an integrated marketing communications company with offices in New York, Charleston, Houston, Atlanta, Tampa and Denver. LHG has been a leader in the public relations field since 1984, representing clients in the travel, lifestyle, hospitality and business sectors.

Day-to-Day Activities:

          • Oversee day-to-day client communication
          • Organize and escort press trips, desk side and media missions
          • Pitch traditional and online media, follow up editorial opportunities, research new media
          • Support press event planning, attend and participate
          • Actively participate/lead client planning efforts
          • Demonstrate strong writing skills, ability to create materials and edit, deliver close to final work
          • Oversee/create monthly reports, call reports, determine client ready
          • Lead client conference calls offering project updates
          • Participate in brainstorming sessions, develop strategic/creative thinking
          • Source marketing partnerships/promotion opportunities, support coordination
          • Work with junior account team members, support in mentoring
          • Develop relationships with media, all platforms

Talent/Experience:

          • BA/BS from a four-year accredited university
          • At least two years in a public relations agency or communications agency or dedicated in house public relations experience (agency experience is preferred)
          • Strong detail and organizational skills, sensitivity to deadlines
          • Creative, high energy, can-do attitude
          • Strong writing skills (AP style), familiar PR software and Microsoft Office programs
          • Strategic thinking
          • Understand and keep up to date with industry and competitive landscape knowledge
          • Travel and/or real estate industry knowledge and languages a plus
          • Seeking to “learn the world”
