Carter Long is President of Lou Hammond Group Atlanta, bringing a decade of experience in public relations and integrated communications for hotels, resorts, cruise lines, and destinations as well as lifestyle brands to the company’s Atlanta office. In this role, she leverages her regional experience and national contacts to expand LHG’s growing Southern portfolio. Carter values personal relationships and thrives in developing meaningful and mutually beneficial media connections, which have led to her securing extensive media coverage for her clients in national print, digital and broadcast outlets.

Adept at crisis communications, Carter recently led the recovery strategy for a prominent river cruise line that was negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. With her leadership, results surpassed year-over-year numbers in every category with standout placements on Fox Business, Travel + Leisure, Travel Weekly, Departures, and more.

Prior to Lou Hammond Group, Carter cultivated her extensive knowledge of the hospitality sector through her work at several award-winning public relations agencies where she led the development and implementation of numerous PR and media relations programs, both on a local and a global scale. Her work has also included serving as an on-camera spokesperson for Party City, as well as a private island resort in the Florida Keys.

A native of north Florida and a proud graduate of the University of Florida, Carter relocated to Atlanta in 2013 where she now lives with her husband Jesse and their daughter Eleanor. In her spare time, she loves spending time outdoors and jumps at the opportunity to explore nearby hiking trails with the family and their dog, Junior.
